This Privacy Policy describes how the “Close Duplicate Tabs” extension (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Data Collection and Usage
We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data or browsing history to external servers.
The extension operates entirely locally on your device.
1. Permissions We Use
Tabs (`tabs`): This permission is used solely to read the URLs of your open tabs. This allows the extension to identify and group duplicate tabs so they can be closed. This processing happens instantly in your browser’s memory and is not saved or referenced elsewhere.
Storage (`storage`): This permission is used to save your extension preferences (such as “Auto Close” settings and your whitelist) locally or to your browser account’s sync storage.
Tab Groups (`tabGroups`): This permission is requested to ensure compatibility with browser features but is not actively used to collect data.
Host Permissions (`<all_urls>`): This is required to detect duplicates on any website you visit.
2. Data Storage
Preferences: Your settings are stored using the Chrome Storage API. If you have checking “Sync” enabled in your browser, these settings may be synced across your signed-in devices by your browser provider (Google/Microsoft). We do not have access to this data.
3. Third-Party Services
We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking services.
