Link Cleaner (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our browser extension, Link Cleaner, handles information when you use it.
1. Information We Do Not Collect Link Cleaner is designed with privacy as its core principle.
- No Data Collection: We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your personal information, web history, search queries, or user activity.
- No Analytics: We do not use any analytics software, trackers, or telemetry to monitor your usage of the extension.
- No External Servers: The extension operates completely locally on your device. We do not have any external servers that receive data from your browser.
2. How the Extension Works Link Cleaner uses the modern declarativeNetRequest API provided by your browser. This means the extension does not “read” your web traffic or URLs in the background. Instead, you define regular expression rules, and the browser itself applies these rules privately to clean URLs (such as stripping tracking parameters) before the web page even loads.
3. Local Storage Any custom URL cleaning rules you create or settings you toggle (such as turning the extension on or off) are saved locally using the browser’s built-in chrome.storage.sync API. This data is stored on your device and synced only with your own Google/browser account (if you have sync enabled). We have no access to this data.
4. Changes to This Policy If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Since we do not collect any user data, any changes will likely be minor clarifications.
5. Contact If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or the Link Cleaner extension, please reach out via the support tab on the Chrome Web Store.
